Christmastime has arrived in Birmingham, friends! We couldn’t be more excited to welcome such a fun and beautiful time of year. Somehow, the Magic City turns a bit more magical in the winter! Birmingham has so much to offer all year long, but especially during the month of December. We shared our fall bucket list, so we felt it was only right to share our Birmingham holiday bucket list with you, too! Clear your calendar – we are about to fill it up for you!

Catch a Christmas movie (or two!) at the Alabama Theatre Holiday Movie Series. From Elf to Christmas Vacation, there’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than enjoying an evening at Birmingham’s iconic Alabama Theatre! Movies begin December 7th.

Explore the Birmingham Zoo at their annual Zoolight Safari! Fun for all ages, Zoolight Safari offers games, rides, crafts and even a visit with Santa! Zoolight Safari opens December 7th.

Take in 3.25 miles of twinkling lights at Shamrock’s Christmas Wonderland! The show started November 16 and will be open until January 6th.

Get tacky at the Wacky Tacky Lights Tour. The tour takes off from Avondale Brewing Company December 11th, 12th and 13th!

Don your ugliest apparel at the 2nd annual Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl on December 8th. From Tin Roof to Innisfree to Sidebar to Moe’s to Nanafunks, this bar crawl is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit!

Watch the Trans-Siberian Orchestra live in concert at the BJCC! On December 9th, TSO is back in Birmingham for the second year in a row! Don’t miss what is sure to be two sold out performances.

Test your skating skills at Brrrmingham! Ice Skating in Railroad Park! Open now until January 6th, enjoy Birmingham’s only outdoor ice skating rink. Perfect outing for all ages!

Head to the theatre to watch the Birmingham Ballet’s presentation of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker. You can see the show December 1st and 2nd at the Alabama Theatre!

See marching bands, dancing troupes and a special Santa sighting at the annual Homewood Christmas Parade! Head to downtown Homewood to see it all on December 4th at 6:30 pm!
