A Neutral Spring Wedding at Park Crest Event Facility | Birmingham Wedding

One of the coolest things about planning a wedding in Birmingham is that there are beautiful locations right on the outskirts of the heart of the city that make it feel like you’re a million miles away.  One of our favorites?  Park Crest Event Facility located in Hoover.  This beautiful location is close enough to be convenient, yet features beautiful greenery and mountain views like you’re anywhere but in the city.  Meredith and Dan selected this beautiful venue to celebrate their marriage and it couldn’t have been more beautiful!

There’s nothing we love more than hearing all about a wedding day from the bride’s point of view, and Meredith was gracious enough to share some fabulous details about her big day with us!

Tell us about your inspiration for your wedding day.

Our wedding day inspiration was based on farm houses, country clubs, and lots of greenery.  My husband and I really wanted to have a simple design with a lot of greenery, white flowers, and shiny things.  My mother, on the other hand, wanted us to have a country club-esqe wedding with cocktail attire and all the fancy things.  Ashley with Magnolia Vine Events was able to make me and my mother extremely happy with the outcome!

What was the most important thing to you when you were planning your big day?

The most important thing to me when planning our wedding day was to have that day be as stress free as possible. I knew if we didn’t have awesome vendors, an amazing wedding planner, and loving friends and family that we’d be SO stressed.  But our day went without hitch (if there were any issues, I didn’t know about them and still don’t know about them haha).  Another thing we wanted was to make sure our wedding day was what WE wanted—which all the TERRIFIC vendors made sure happened.

Was it important for you to get married in Birmingham?  If so, why?

When we were planning our wedding we thought of many different locations for a wedding; Atlanta (my hometown), Huntsville (Dan’s hometown), and Destin (because beaches are cool).  We quickly decided that we needed to be married in Birmingham for two reasons—1. It’s the city in which we met, 2. It’s the middle point between both of our parents.  Both of our parents played a big role in planning our wedding so Birmingham was a convenient half way point for us all to meet!

Tell us your favorite part of your wedding day!

My favorite part of our wedding day was when that barn door slid open and I had tunnel vision down that aisle to Dan.  Of course I saw our loving friends and family, but he was waiting down at the end of the aisle for me and I knew after my dad walked me down there that my life was about to change forever.  Our floral and photographs were the other favorites from our wedding day! CeCe Designs did a PHENOMENAL job and Eric and Jamie left us speechless!

Do you have any advice to share with brides who are currently planning their big day?

My advice to other brides who are planning their big day is to take it in one day at a time because once you depart from your reception, it’s over.  I didn’t think I’d miss wedding planning WHATSOEVER, but I missed getting emails from Ashley, meeting with vendors to decide what we wanted, what food we were going to serve, and the cake…. Oh man the cake.  Just be sure to take a step back and take things in and cherish those memories you’re making with your partner.
