With college football in full swing and the infamous pumpkin spice latte back in stock at Starbucks, that can only mean fall is right around the corner! Leaves will soon start changing colors and the temperatures will begin to cool down (right, James Spann?!) and we cannot wait to explore all of the fun fall activities our favorite city has to offer this year. Birmingham has an amazing line up of fall festivals, shows, concerts and other events so get your calendar out and start mapping out your very own fall bucket list!

Pepper Place Farmer’s Market – An absolute favorite here in Birmingham! Pepper Place only gets better once the calendar turns to fall, trust us. Even if you’ve already been over the summer, make sure to add another trip to this awesome farmer’s market for the fall season.

Bluff Park Art Show  – On the first Saturday in October, head on up to Bluff Park in Hoover to experience their yearly art show! Artists from far and wide travel to Bluff Park to share their art with us. This is one event you won’t want to miss!

UAB Football – Football seasons is in full swing! We’re encouraging all Birmingham natives to get out and support the Blazers this season! The games are always fun for the whole family to attend.

Haunted Houses – Atrox and Sloss Factory returns this fall and all the Halloween lovers said ‘amen’! These fright factories are sure to scare you and give you an absolute thrill!

The Tannehill Halloween Fairyland Festival at Tannehill State Park – Mark your calendars for October 27th, load up your family and head to beautiful Tannehill for their Halloween festival! Fun for all ages, this not-so-scary Halloween festival includes moonwalks, trick or treating, balloon animals and face painting! This sounds like a family tradition in the making.

Vulcan After Tunes Concert Series – Starting September 23rd, head to Birmingham’s favorite iron statue, Vulcan, while you and your family enjoy great music and even better views. Pack up your blankets and lawn chairs while you relax in Birmingham’s “backyard”.

Boo at the Zoo at the Birmingham Zoo – Carnival games, spooky rides and monster mash dance parties come to town October 11 -14 and October 18-31! Kids are sure to have loads of fun at ghoul school, sliding down the Spider Slide or riding on the Eerie Express train!

The Moss Rock Festival at the Moss Rock Preserve – Mark your calendars for the first weekend in November when Moss Rock Festival returns to Birmingham! Enjoy art, sculptures, clothing and gifts from local vendors as you take in the beautiful scenery, listen to great live music and maybe even enjoy a Birmingham beer or two at the beer garden.

Birmingham Greek Festival – The first weekend is October you’ll find the oldest cultural food festival in Birmingham, the Birmingham Greek Festival and we know you don’t want to miss this one! From amazing Greek food to the fun music, this is one event you’ll want to add to your calendar.

Oktoberfest Birmingham – Beer lovers rejoice! Birmingham’s very own Oktoberfest will be held October 6th at the always beautiful Railroad Park. If beer isn’t your drink of choice, don’t fret! The festival is full of live entertainment, authentic German foods and plenty of friendly Oktoberfest competitions.

Christmas Village Festival – The first weekend in November is always a busy one at the BJCC as they host the annual Christmas Village Festival! Tickets for this event sells out FAST so be sure to get yours in advance and get in the Christmas spirit!
