A Fall Wedding at Vulcan Park and Museum by Two Hearts Weddings and Events

When we saw the photos rolling out from this beautiful Fall wedding at Vulcan Park and Museum, planned perfectly by Rachael Grammer of Two Hearts Weddings and Events, we knew it was the perfect wedding to be the very first featured wedding on I Do Birmingham!  With a stunning view of the Magic City for the ceremony and an incredible flip for a gorgeous second look for the reception in the exact same location, this is one of the most beautiful Birmingham weddings we’ve ever seen!  A show stopping clear tent from Event Rentals Unlimited complete with stunning cafe lights and chandeliers from Design Productions, and amazing pops of bold colorful flowers from HotHouse Design Studio created a one of a kind look for this beautiful bride and groom.  But don’t take our word for it, check out all the incredible photos from Allison Lewis Photography.

One of our favorite things is to hear all about wedding days from the bride’s point of view.  Here’s what Meredith had to say about her wedding day!

Tell us about your inspiration for your wedding day: We mostly just wanted to feature the best of the season and the best of Birmingham. We had family and friends traveling a long way to celebrate with us, and we really wanted to represent the city in a beautiful way.

What was the most important thing to you when you were planning your big day? Most of all we wanted everyone to have a wonderful time, from start to finish.

Was it important to you to get married in Birmingham?  If so, why? It was! I grew up nearby in Gadsden, attended high school in Birmingham, and it was important to show off the city to family and friends who had never been there.

Tell us your favorite part of your big day: it’s so hard to choose! We loved having so many people close to us all in the same place together, but it’s hard to compete with surprise fireworks!

Do you have any advice to share with other brides currently planning their wedding? Get a wedding planner if you can, or at least some day-of help! Having Rachael as our planner was the best decision we made, it’s so worth it to be able to relax and actually enjoy the day. Also, don’t stress every little thing- pick the most important and delegate the rest (plus that way you may get a few wonderful surprises!).

As you can see from the photos, Meredith and Joe’s wedding day had a pretty impressive flip from the ceremony to the reception in the same location overlooking the city. Being in the wedding industry ourselves, we know this is NO EASY TASK!  We asked Meredith’s planner Rachael to comment on how they pulled off this impressive task!  Per Rachael: “When we first started planning this wedding, it was important to Meredith to be married in the church. Due to some issues that we could not resolve, this was not possible. So I talked with them about creating a beautiful outdoor open church with a view of the city below. After the ceremony, we would flip the space and transform it to a beautiful reception, all while keeping that view. They loved this idea! We knew we had to bring in pews for the overall look and to finish it off, we used beautiful rugs to form the aisle. After the ceremony, we asked guests to move up to the terrace just outside of the museum for cocktails while we transformed the space. We allotted one hour to complete the flip, but the team finished in 30 minutes flat. I knew we had put a good plan in place but seeing it in action was truly something I was so proud of to see. The teams from several vendors appeared all at once and got their parts done. We had all of the tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, and even the pastry bites all set and ready to go in a staging tent just down the sidewalk from the main tent.”

Congratulations Meredith and Joe on a stunning Birmingham wedding!
